Opening Reception - Michael Bishop Exhibition

Join us for an opening reception celebrating the exhibition Trying to get it right: Michael Bishop, on view in the Jacki Headley University Art Gallery (Arts 121).

Professor Emeritus Michael Bishop’s career was defined by a blend of travel, studio work, and teaching—sharing his expertise in casting and mold-making with artists and students at Chico state and internationally. His work is marked by a willingness to let ideas translate and expand through new materials, moving from the weight of metal to the transparency of glass, the pictorial quality of photography, and the tactile surface of Turkish felt. This exhibition celebrates four decades of Michael’s life in the studio and his creative legacy in the Department of Art and Art History.
