Explore Downtown Chico after dark on a spooky, history-filled walking tour featuring local legends, ghost stories, and characters from Chico’s past—all benefiting the effort to save and restore the historic El Rey Theatre.

- Admission is by suggested donation. Reservations are required, but donations may be made online during registration or at the door. There will be no walk-up admission without a reservation, and no separate discounts are available for youth, students, seniors, or military. The tour is recommended for ages 12 and up.
About This Event
Join us Friday, October 30, for one big night of Chico Haunted Tours! After dark, you’ll walk through Downtown Chico, stopping at historic locations to meet characters from Chico’s past and hear ghost stories, local lore, strange happenings, and some of the darker corners of the city’s history. Tours depart every 15 minutes from 7:00–9:00 p.m., with each group limited to 20 people. The tour lasts about an hour and covers approximately 0.7 miles at a leisurely pace.
Reservations are required, and tickets will not be sold at the door. Recommended for ages 12 and up; minors must be accompanied by an adult. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. All proceeds benefit the El Rey Theater 501(c)(3), which is raising money to purchase and restore Chico’s historic El Rey Theatre.

Tours depart every 15 minutes from 7:00–9:00 p.m. Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled departure time. Each tour lasts approximately one hour; the final tour is expected to conclude around 10:00 p.m.
