Grace Hertlein, a Chico State graduate and longtime faculty member in the Department of Computer Science, was at the forefront of the exploration and development of early digital art in the 1970s. This exhibition is the first to bring to light her innovative artistic vision as well as her important role as an advocate for the emerging art form of “computer art.” An educator and mentor, Hertlein shaped the creative paths of many Chico State students. Step into her classroom through a selection of student work from the 1970s, alongside a video of Hertlein teaching.
