About This Event
The Vagina Monologues was originally written by V (formerly Eve Ensler), as an activist piece that debuted in 1994. It initially appeared Off-Broadway for five years in New York City, before touring the rest of the United States. V, the creator, originally produced “The Vagina Monologues” in 1994 and based the performance on dozens of real interviews with people who have vaginas. In 1998, it became a frequent benefit for the V-Day movement.
It is to this day a part of V-Day campaigns to create new narratives surrounding vaginas and end violence and sexist stigma against vagina-owners around the globe. The Vagina Monologues serves to empower vagina-owners of all genders, ages, and walks of life, and all identities are welcomed to watch. The play discusses mature and potentially triggering themes.
