We are hosting an English Tea fundraiser for "The Reluctant Debutante," a British comedy by William Douglas-Home, produced at Birdcage Theatre and directed by Raquel and Wes Holmstrom. We are fundraising for this production by hosting an exciting afternoon with an English Tea party at the Ehmann Home and a play at Birdcage Theatre.
Tickets can be purchased at: https://www.birdcagetheatre.org/.../the-reluctant...
Tickets for this event are $55 each, which includes a play ticket and an English Tea served with an assortment of teas, scones and preserves, and a variety of delectable tea sandwiches and desserts. After the tea, attendees can then stroll around the block to Birdcage Theatre and see the hilarious play "The Reluctant Debutante."

The Reluctant Debutante is a lively British comedy packed with witty banter, social blunders, and charming chaos. Jimmy and Sheila Broadbent are determined to introduce their daughter Jane to high society and pair her with a “proper” young man. But their plans quickly unravel when Jane takes an interest in someone who definitely isn’t on their approved list.
What follows is a whirlwind of misunderstandings, anxious gossip, and the Broadbent’s scrambling to avoid even the hint of scandal. With sharp humor and playful social commentary, the play revels in the delightful messiness of family expectations, romantic surprises, and the timeless comedy of trying a little too hard to control everything.
